DAURI, Giancarlo Lauria, born in the province of Turin, but after a few years he moved with his family in Basilicata, the land of his father's origin. Still a child, he shows great interest in music in all its forms and nuances, he makes it his elective hobby until, adolescent, feels that such passion is his life, appreciate it as a consumer is not enough and then decides to try to do it, approaching self-taught percussion and quickly achieving surprising results. Followed by numerous collaborations in various bands where, as a drummer / vocalist, ranging from metal to pop music through pop-rock, but despite several changes of line-up aimed at raising the professional level of the formations, his great musical skills soon turn out frustrated and limited by the context of the band because of artistic views that are not entirely congruent. Taking note of this reality, rather than chasing a definitive line-up to which it would hardly have come, he decided to focus only on himself developing a personal artistic project that he had been thinking for a long time, so he started writing lyrics and took guitar lessons in order to be able to compose also music and arrangements of his future works. In 2003, with little resources, he self-produced a demo with two tracks taking care of all the musical aspects, where he reveals glimpses and brilliant intuitions combined with a very particular vocal timbre. The subsequent work of research and study combined with his strength of spirit and the fierce determination in achieving the goals then lead him to mature a personal artistic style reaching his first work as a singer, thus attracting the attention of IRMA RECORDS and obtaining the his first record contract: The album The error of my pleasure. |
