  Review

A year after the full-length Quiet Storms, the Galahad return with their album Seas Of Change.
So, compared to its predecessor, this album is a twin but ... different, a child more or less of the same period, but at the same time a reversed image: a full-bodied series of songs for the first, one single, long and interminable suite (just under 43 minutes) for the second.
The English group, born in 1985, has rightly entered the list of the best neo-prog bands. such as IQ, Pendragon and Pallas. The album, which is already refined by the infamous artwork by Paul Tippett, sees the production of even Karl Groom (Threshold) and offers a happy combination of pseudo-pop sounds with other more heavy, as well as the identity of the combo walks on the thin line stretched between nostalgic past and new looming. An alchemy largely successful, which combines so many pastoral moments (pleasing parts to the winds by Sarah Bolter), evocative openings, energetic leaps, solo segments of good quality (the guitar of Lee Abraham and the parts orchestrated by keyboardist Dean Baker), choral sections of sure impact.
Ultimately a good job that of the Galahad, which will make fans of the prog rock of the past, but also the new generation of listeners accustomed to the sound of bands like Arena and Spock's Beard.
